How we use your email
This covers the Kutubi launch list only. It doesn’t cover the Kutubi research service, which will have its own privacy notice.
Who runs the list
The launch list is run under the trading name Kutubi, in the United Kingdom. For anything about your information, email support@kutubi.co.uk.
What we collect, and when
When you ask to join, we send your address a confirmation email. We don’t store your request: the link in that email carries your address, securely signed so it can’t be altered, and it stops working after 14 days. If you never confirm, we keep nothing, apart from the email provider’s own record of the message it sent.
When you confirm, your address joins the list with a record of your agreement: which version of the signup wording you agreed to, when you asked, when you confirmed, and the page you signed up from.
To stop misuse, such as someone flooding another person’s inbox, we count requests for up to two hours using a scrambled, one-way fingerprint of your address and of your connection’s IP address. The fingerprint can’t be turned back into either.
When you click a link in one of our emails, our email provider records that it was clicked and when, so we can see which updates are useful. We don’t record whether you open our emails.
We don’t ask about your beliefs or research interests, and this website uses no cookies or analytics.
Why we use it
To email you when Kutubi opens and, now and then, with news about the project. We do this because you consented. Joining the list doesn’t create a Kutubi account.
Who handles it for us
- Resend sends our emails and keeps the list. It is based in the United States. Transfers are protected by the standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum in its data processing agreement.
- Cloudflare runs this website. It handles your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse, under its own data processing terms.
We don’t sell your information or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or we close the list. When you unsubscribe, your address stays marked as unsubscribed so we don’t email you again by mistake. Ask us and we’ll delete it entirely.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe with the link in any email, and ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your information. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
